| Team News :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Smoked Boston Butts to be cooked/pickup on Thursday, Sept. 2nd - 5:30pm @ The Rec The Gulf Shores Swim Team is looking for volunteers to help smoke the Boston Butts for our fundraiser. The volunteers will need to go to the Taylor Plantation to help wrap the butts for delivery. The Smoked Butts will be available for pickup at 5:30pm @ the Rec Center. Great job Ladies!!!!!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ryan Lochte Swim Clinic The Gulf Shores Rec Center will host a Swim Clinic with Ryan Lochte (6 time gold medal winner at Pan Pac, 200 IM world record holder and the fastest man this year in the 400 IM, 200 free and 200 back. This is a great opportunity for our swimmers to learn from one of the best. Again, it's FREE to our team because we are letting them use our facility. This swim clinic will be held @ our Pool on Oct. 2nd 8:00-12:00 (noon) I would really love for as many parents that can, to attend the Parents Education Seminar that Sat. morning at the Civic Center (across the street) 9-12:00 (noon). If the kids attend the Swim Clinic they will be able to visit Waterville that night from 6-8 pm with all other Swim Clinic attendees. This will be FREE also. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Fall Swim Team Registration We are now able to register for the fall session online. Here is the website: http://www.gulfshoresal.gov/parksandrec/onlinepayments.html 1. Click on link 2. Click on Register now 3. Click on Alabama (because that's where we live) 4. Click on Register now again 5. Click on the + beside Aquatics, this brings down Swim Team, click on that 6. Go through all 5 Steps You will be registered for the Fall Session of Swim Team. Everyone is to have their child signed up at the Front Desk & the USA registration sheet I sent out in the mail (filled out & paid for), before your child is allowed to swim. This is USA swimming & City of Gulf Shores policy. We have insurance through USA swimming and every child on our team must have the $57 registration membership to USA swimming. Payments for the $57 is to GSST. --------------------------------------------------------------------- GSST caps off a great year at City Meet! The Gulf Shores Swim Team capped a successful summer season in the Gulf Coast Area Aquatic League (GCAAL) Championship meet on July 16-17. The swim meet was held at the David L. Bodenhamer Recreation Center in Gulf Shores. The Gulf Shores Dolphins finished 3rd place in their division behind the teams from Fairhope and Lake Forest. The Dolphins were led by high point winners Catherine Taylor, age 13, and Nathan McGee, age 11. High Point runner-up award winners for the team included: Garrett Robinson, age 10, Stephen Kichler, age 8, and Danielle Albert, age 16.
